How to clean a hair brush ?

What you need
- Scissors or hair brush cleaner tool
- Comb
- Warm water
- Mild shampoo/body wash
- Bowl
- Towel

Step 1: Remove loose hair
Pull out all tangled hair from the brush with your fingers, scissors, or a brush cleaner. Use a comb to rake through the bristles to get leftover hair out.

Step 2: Prepare warm soapy water
Fill a bowl with warm (not hot) water, add a little shampoo, and mix.

Step 3: Soak the brush
Dip the bristle side only into the soapy water.
Don’t soak the wooden/plastic base too long — it can warp or damage the cushion.
Soak for 5–10 minutes to dissolve oil, dust, and product buildup.

Step 4: Scrub gently
Use your fingers or an old toothbrush to scrub between bristles to remove dirt, hairspray residue, and oil.

Step 5: Rinse clean
Rinse the brush under running lukewarm water until all soap is gone.

Step 6: Dry properly
Lay the brush bristles down on a towel to air dry completely.

Leave overnight for full drying

Tips
- Clean your hair brush once a week
- For wooden brushes: avoid long soaking, just quick rinse
- Add a drop of tea tree oil to water for antibacterial effect

How to Detangle Hair Without Breakage ?

Best rules & step-by-step
1. Detangle when hair is damp (not soaking wet, not fully dry)
Dry hair is brittle and snaps easily; soaking wet hair stretches and breaks.
Lightly mist with water or leave-in conditioner is perfect.

2. Start from the ends, not the roots
- Begin 2–3 cm from the bottom
- Work small sections upward little by little
Never yank from the top — it rips hair and hurts the scalp.

3. Use the right tools
- Wide-tooth comb (best for thick/curly hair)
- Soft paddle brush or detangler brush
Avoid fine-tooth comb on tangled hair.

4. Use finger detangling first
Use your fingers to gently separate big knots before using a comb
Much less breakage than jumping straight to a brush.

5. Detangle in small sections
Don’t tackle all hair at once. Split into 4–6 sections, do one at a time.

6. Never detangle tight wet hair after shower
Pat hair dry with a microfiber towel first (don’t rub hard). Rubbing causes more tangles and breakage.

7. Daily prevention tips
- Sleep with a silk/satin scrunchie or pillowcase
- Avoid tight ponytails every day
- Brush lightly morning and night to stop big knots forming
